Full Body Wax Aftercare: What to Do in the First 72 Hours (Brazilian Wax Included)
By Flourishing Sekrets Spa | October 7, 2026
Our Full Body Wax is 60 minutes and covers full legs, Brazilian, underarms, and full arms. Aftercare matters most in the first 72 hours.
The most important rule after a full body wax in Pembroke Pines is simple: keep your skin cool, clean, and dry for the first 24 to 48 hours. Waxing removes hair at the root, and your follicles stay open for a bit, so heat, sweat, friction, and strong products can turn a great result into irritation fast. If you’re headed back out into our hot, humid South Florida weather, this matters even more. The goal is smooth skin that stays calm, especially after a Brazilian wax.
0–24 hours after full body waxing: cool skin wins
Right after your appointment, your skin is usually a little pink and tender. That’s normal. What helps most is lowering heat and friction while everything settles.
Do this today
- Take a cool to lukewarm shower if you need one. Pat dry, don’t rub.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing. Cotton underwear is your friend after a full Brazilian wax.
- Keep skin care simple and fragrance-free. Think gentle cleanser and a light, non-greasy moisturizer.
- If you’ll be driving along Pines Boulevard or running errands near University Drive, bring a change of clothes if you tend to sweat easily.
Avoid for 24–48 hours
- Heavy workouts, long outdoor walks, and anything that makes you sweat a lot.
- Hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs.
- Pools and ocean swimming (chlorine and salt can sting and irritate freshly waxed skin).
- Tight leggings or shapewear that rubs your underarms, bikini area, or inner thighs.
- Sex after a Brazilian wax for at least 24 to 48 hours, since friction and bacteria raise irritation risk.
A quick note for underarms: skip alcohol-based deodorants right away. If you need something, keep it gentle and minimal for the first day or two.
24–72 hours: where ingrowns and bumps start (or don’t)
This is the window when people in Pembroke Pines tend to get into trouble, mostly because humidity and sweat sneak up on you. Your skin feels better, so you get back to normal too fast. We generally recommend staying a little conservative here.
If you’re working out again
Ease in. Shorter sessions, lighter intensity, and shower soon after. Sweat sitting on waxed follicles is one of the fastest ways to get redness and tiny bumps on legs, underarms, and the bikini area.
When you can start exfoliating
Hold off on exfoliation for the first 48 hours. Then start gently between 48 to 72 hours if your skin looks calm. The goal is preventing trapped hairs, especially on full legs and underarms. Don’t scrub hard. Light, consistent exfoliation works better than a once-a-week attack.
Time-saver for busy schedules: Keep it to two basics for these first few days. Shower lukewarm, moisturize lightly. That’s usually enough to keep skin happy after a long drive or a day outside in Miramar, Hollywood, or Cooper City.
The first week after a Brazilian wax: keep it calm, keep it consistent
By day three, most people feel totally normal. This is when routine matters. Your wax will look its best when the skin stays smooth and the hair can grow back without getting trapped.
Week-one habits we see make the biggest difference
- Moisturize daily with a lightweight, non-greasy lotion. Dry skin makes ingrowns more likely.
- Exfoliate gently 2 to 3 times during the week once you’re past that 48–72 hour mark. Use a soft washcloth or a gentle exfoliating mitt.
- Avoid picking at bumps. Picking turns a small irritation into a dark spot or a longer healing time.
- Be smart with sun. Freshly waxed skin can be more sensitive. If your legs are exposed, use sunscreen once skin is calm.
If you’re spending time outdoors around Pembroke Lakes or Towngate, rinse off sweat sooner rather than later. That simple step helps prevent irritation around the inner thighs, bikini line, and underarms.
Simple products for full Brazilian waxing aftercare (no complicated shelf)
You don’t need a long list. You need the right types of products used at the right time. For full body waxing, we stick with gentle, fragrance-free basics, especially in the first few days.
Our go-to aftercare routine by product type
- Cleanser: Mild, fragrance-free body wash. Avoid strong acids or exfoliating washes for the first 48 hours.
- Moisturizer: Lightweight lotion that won’t clog pores. If you’re prone to bumps, go lighter, not heavier.
- Soothing option: Aloe-style soothing gel can help if you feel warm or irritated. Keep it simple and non-sticky.
- Exfoliation tool: A soft washcloth or gentle mitt starting at 48–72 hours. Skip harsh scrubs and aggressive brushes.
Quick reminder: Freshly waxed underarms and bikini skin don’t like fragrance, alcohol, or heavy oils right away. If a product stings, rinse it off and keep it basic.
What’s normal after full body waxing, and when to reach out to us
A little redness, sensitivity, or tiny bumps right after waxing is common. It usually settles quickly when you avoid heat and friction. But if something feels off, we want you to tell us. We’d rather answer a quick question than have you guessing at home.
“Katherine is very knowledgeable, professional, and provides the best customer service. I will be booking monthly consistently.”

Reach out if you notice increasing swelling, spreading redness, heat that feels intense, pus, or pain that’s getting worse instead of better. Those aren’t “push through it” signs.
